Coming Tuesday: Post listings on Craigslist

Delta Media Group customers will soon be able to easily post their real estate listings on Craigslist.

On Tuesday, June 2, Delta Media Group will release a platform that automatically creates HTML code for a templated Craigslist post. Real estate agents and brokerage administrators only need to copy and paste the code into Craigslist to post the listing.

Unlike search portals Trulia, Zillow, Yahoo and others, Craigslist does not allow for automated listing syndication. Instead, Delta Media Group's Craigslist function automatically creates a visual and results-focused template, saving a significant amount of time for agents who manually post listings to Craigslist.

The Craigslist template features the listing agent name, contact information and link to his or her real estate website, as well as MLS information on the listing, including photos, listing details and a link to the listing's website. The template also has several lead capture buttons built to drive leads and traffic to the agent's real estate website, and into the real estate lead management system.

Delta Media Group's update makes posting on Craigslist as simple as possible. The Craigslist link will be added to the Listing page on the DeltaNet between the eCards and Seller Reports links. To generate a Craigslist ad, click "Generate Ad" in the Craiglist column, then select which template color combination you'd prefer. The system will immediately generate the HTML code for the ad, which you can view by clicking "Preview." From there, simply copy the code, click "Post to Craigslist," and the system will open the page to paste the code in for the post.

Craigslist is an online classified ad forum broken down by region. It has grown tremendously in popularity, boasting over 50 million visitors and 20 billion page views per month. In the first day of posting listings to Craigslist, a Delta Media Group customer running a beta program of the Craigslist feed received two showing requests from Craigslist.

Contact Delta Media Group for more information on how to post listings to Craigslist, or Delta Media Group's real estate website and lead management systems.

DeltaNet Listings Page update - Overview Page

As noted earlier today, Delta Media Group will update the Listings Page on the real estate agent DeltaNet to a new interface Tuesday.

The new Listings Page interface is easier for agents to use, and aims to help agents improve the listing's online results. One of the most beneficial aspects of the new interface is the Overview Page.

The Overview Page is the default page of the modal window. Across the top of the page it shows MLS ID number, address, the number of days the listing was in the system, and the listing’s direct URL. Below that information are tabs that allow the agent to directly access the listing’s additional pages.

The listing’s Overview Page gives the agent an overview of the listing’s details. The page is broken into four sections, including: Listing Photos; Comments; Videos, Slideshows, V-Tours; and Seller Reports.

Listing Photos
The Listing Photos section shows how many photos have been added to the listing, if the photos have been updated within the past 12 months, how many descriptions were added to the photos, and what Delta Media Group recommends to improve the amount of times listing photos are viewed. Many consumers check multiple real estate websites to see if one offers more information on a particular listing than another. Delta Media Group allows agents to add up to 99 photos per listing, and add descriptions to each of those photos. Photo descriptions help enhance the online user experience, and can add valuable keywords for search engine optimization benefits.

Comments
The Comments section shows whether custom comments were added to the listing to override the comments from the MLS that came through the IDX feed. Customizing listing comments on Delta Media Group’s real estate websites makes the listing unique to the website, and helps improve real estate search engine optimization because it provides fresh, unique content.

Videos, Slideshows, V-Tours
The Videos, Slideshows, V-Tours section tells the agent if they have enacted the Property Pursuit listing Virtual Slideshow, and whether he or she has added a virtual tour to the listing. Virtual tours provide a more enhanced view of a listing for consumers, and Delta Media Group’s Property Pursuit listing Virtual Slideshow is a new feature that, when turned on, automatically creates an interactive slideshow from the listing’s photos.

Seller Reports
The Seller Reports section tells the agent if Seller Reports are turned on. Upon turning Seller Reports on, Delta Media Group’s system automatically E-mails the seller a weekly report showing how many times the seller's listing was viewed online. The report comes branded from the real estate agent, and shows the number of times the listing was viewed each week on the agent’s real estate company website, the number of times it was viewed on the Property Pursuit national property search, and the total number of times the listing was viewed, both locally and nationwide.

The Overview Page was created to give real estate agents a quick and easily accessible report to help agents understand how they can better market their listings.

Delta Media Group will soon provide additional information on the other pages of the new agent Listing Page interface. Check back to Delta Media Group's blog for further updates.

Delta Media Group to release new Listings page interface Tuesday

The Listings Page on the real estate agent DeltaNet will get a facelift Tuesday, June 2, providing agents with an easy-to-use, results-oriented interface.

Agents who click on the MLS number on their Listings page will see a new modal window (a pseudo pop-up window that appears within the same browser and allows agents to work within that window or return to the background window upon closing it).

The modal window provides the agent six tabs to work within: Overview, Photos, Comments, Open Houses, Mapping and Media. Delta Media Group will soon post blog updates on the advantages of these windows, and how agents can use them to better enhance their real estate business.

Check back to Delta Media Group's blog for further updates, or contact Delta Media Group for more information on its real estate company websites, real estate agent websites and real estate lead management systems.

Delta Media Group updates Haves & Wants system with HTML editor

Delta Media Group's programmers had a busy day yesterday, releasing updates to the real estate website developer's renowned lead management system and the Haves & Wants system.

Delta Media Group's Haves & Wants system now utilizes the HTML editor for agents to create messages in. The HTML editor is a more advanced interface that allows agents to customize font styles, utilize the built-in spell check, hyperlink to Web pages, and embed HTML code.

The HTML editor update gives agents the ability to better enhance their outgoing messages with links to a listing Web page, property search, or their own real estate website, quickly check spelling, and add HTML code for valuable widgets or a video of a listing.

The Haves & Wants system was created as an internal communication tool for agents to send interoffice and group E-mails to select agents and offices within the real estate company. It is beneficial as a resource to notify agents of a buyer or seller via an E-mail blast.

Delta Media Group has built into the DeltaNet a two-minute video of how to use the Haves & Wants system. To access the video, log in as an agent, click the "Marketing" tab then the "Haves & Wants" button, then click the question bubble next to the "Haves and Wants" title near the top of the page. This will open a window explaining the system and how to use it, and offer a video on the system.

Contact Delta Media Group for more information on Haves & Wants system updates.

Lead Management updates to help encourage quicker lead response from agents

Delta Media Group finished a new update to the real estate lead management system this morning, which gives company admins the ability to remove agents from receiving lead notifications if they do not follow up with leads.

The lead management system update should help encourage agents to follow up with contacts and process their leads more quickly in order to help them close more business and increase agent and company revenue.

Admins can turn the system on under the "Settings" tab of the "Leads & Contacts" section of the DeltaNet. About halfway down the Leads & Contacts Settings page is a new section, titled "Agents with Unprocessed Leads." If an admin clicks to turn the system on, it will fill in default time values for the status of each type of lead. The default time values can be customized to the brokerage's preference.

The two lead types include 1/ Agents who have not yet viewed the lead (those with a red or orange status lead), and 2/ Agents who have viewed the lead but have not yet processed it (those with a green status lead). The third line is for proactive notices, and controls the time frame in which agents will be notified that they have unprocessed leads that could result in missing new lead broadcast opportunities from the real estate company website.

The lead management updates include a section that gives companies the ability to customize the notifications sent to their agents. This can be found in the "Preferences" section under the "Messages" tab, with the following headlines:
  • Agents with Unprocessed Leads - Message for red/orange status
  • Agents with Unprocessed Leads - Message for green status
  • Agents with Unprocessed Leads - Message for pro-active notices

The messages control what is sent to the agent when they miss a lead or receive a notice letting them know they have unprocessed leads. The company also has the option of sending the agent a list of their unprocessed leads, which will allow the agent to click on the links and process the leads.

Delta Media Group's lead management updates help brokerages automatically encourage a quicker response time from agents. The quicker agents respond to leads, the better their chances of capturing business from the customers submitting the leads, thus improving agent and company revenue.

The lead management system update is another way Delta Media Group is helping brokerages improve their online revenues. Contact Delta Media Group for more information.

Delta Media Group updates real estate company website News system

Delta Media Group has updated the admin News system on the DeltaNet.

The update gives administrators the ability to post office-level news on the DeltaNet, and choose which offices the news should go to. Upon logging into the DeltaNet, only those members of applicable offices will see news updates that relate to them. The News system previously posted news updates to each member of the company.

Delta Media Group's News system gives company admins the ability to post news to the DeltaNet, which all real estate agents and others using the system will see upon logging in. News articles are saved by date of post, and can be modified or deleted by an admin at any time.

The "Add New News Article" page is integrated with a calendar system from which admins can choose which date to post the article. Admins can also choose to post news to the public real estate website, or exclusively to the DeltaNet. Upon choosing when and where to post the news updates, admins can use the Delta Media Group HTML editor to customize the update as they see fit. This includes adding hyperlinks, graphics, photos, videos, HTML code, and using a large variation of tables, fonts and colors.

Update to Trulia data feed

Delta Media Group has updated the Trulia data syndication feed that automatically sends real estate listings to Trulia.com.

The feed now uses Trulia's updated feed format, and allows for multiple photos of each listing to be sent to Trulia in the feed. The previous feed only allowed for one photo per listing.

Trulia is a real estate search portal where brokers and agents can submit their real estate listings and create profiles, blogs, ask/answer questions, and more. Trulia recently won a Webby Award, and just moved to the sixth most trafficked real estate website on ComScore.

Trulia is a great source for potential real estate listing traffic, as well as improved real estate search engine optimization. Brokerages and agents syndicating real estate listings to Trulia benefit from increased website traffic and national listing exposure.

Delta Media Group sends listing data to Trulia for subscribing real estate brokerages using Delta Media Group's real estate website and lead management systems. To turn on a Trulia data feed click the "Admin" tab on the DeltaNet, then click the "Data Feeds" tab. Delta Media Group currently offers data feeds to Trulia, Google Base, Zillow, Yahoo and FrontDoor.

Delta Media Group national property search growing

Delta Media Group recently launched several new real estate websites that vastly expand the Property Pursuit national property search for everyone using Delta Media Group's real estate company websites and real estate agent websites. We will soon release several new blog posts on those expanded property search markets.

A few new real estate company websites include:
Each time a real estate agent or brokerage signs on to Delta Media Group's services their listings are added to the Property Pursuit national property search. The national property search currently has listings in 47 states across the country.

The Property Pursuit national property search gives Delta Media Group customers an expansive national property search captive to their own real estate website in addition to their IDX property search. It provides consumers the ability to search for relocation, vacation and investment properties throughout the country. All leads go to the real estate website the customer searched on, allowing the real estate company or agent to earn referral fees on those leads.

The national property search also helps real estate professionals gain listings. By adding the Property Pursuit national property search to a listing presentation, real estate brokers and agents can show sellers that their home will be marketed on over 300 real estate company websites and 30,000 real estate agent websites across the country - a unique advantage in today's competitive real estate market.

Check back to Delta Media Group's blog for updates on new markets added to the Property Pursuit national property search.

Listing Statistics page update

A new column has been added to the Listing Statistics page on the DeltaNet. The Search Engine Web Crawler Views column displays how many times per week a listing was hit by search engine Web crawlers.

Previously, the Listing Statistics page displayed only the amount of times per week the listing was viewed on all Delta Media Group real estate websites, and broke these into the amount of times the listing was viewed on the specific brokerage Web system (including all agent websites connected to the brokerage site), and the amount of times the listing was viewed on other Delta Media Group real estate websites via the Property Pursuit national property search. Those columns will remain and include the Search Engine Web Crawler Views column.

While it's a good thing for search engine Web crawlers to find listings, they can skew viewed listing statistics. The new column allows brokers and agents to detect if a listing had a large influx in hits due to search engine crawlers or legitimate real estate website visitors. This will help brokerages better understand their real estate website statistics and gauge definitive jumps in traffic following advertisements and search engine optimization strategies.

DMG Server Move

5/16/09 - 10:03am
Web site services are now partially restored. More database network errors are being resolved to correct some error messages visitors may see when attempting to do a property search.

5/16/09 - 9:25am
We are still working to resolve network issues and restore services.

5/16/09 - 9:11am
We tracked down a couple problems within the new network. One being a bad patch cord. I will post another update in 10 minutes.

5/16/09 - 9:01am
We are working to resolve one more network glitch before putting everything live. I will post another update within 10 minutes.

5/16/09 - 8:40am
A few more pictures:

5/16/09 - 8:10am
I thought I would post some pictures that I have on my phone from the move. I have many more pictures on my camera but won't be able to post those pictures until I have access to another computer.

Removing servers from the old facility:

5/16/09 - 8:09am
All servers are up and running. There are a few final connections that need to be made before the system can be restored. We are expecting all web systems to be restored by 9am.

5/16/09 - 6:00am
About 75% of the servers have been connected to network and power. With a system this size we are working on bringing up services slowly ensuring that all dependent systems are working properly. All primary database server nodes are up and running along with many of the clustered database servers. Work will continue for at least another hour or two getting all the servers ready.

5/16/09 - 4:00am
Most of the servers have been installed in the new facility. Work will begin shortly connecting all power and network cables.

5/16/09 - 2:10am
Bad news -- Our primary firewall did not survive the move. We are in the process of making sure that the backup firewall is configured properly.

5/16/09 - 1:50am
All servers have been pulled from the "old" location. About 1/2 of the servers have arrived at the new facility.

5/16/09 - 12:32am
The server move is under way and going well.

Open House updates: Part III

Delta Media Group's new Open House updates provide a few new ways to help real estate agents and brokerages improve their business.

Open House Update Details
The new Open House updates provide a more comprehensive and visual online detail sheet to help market open houses. They also provide more tools for agents to include in their seller presentations, as they give agents an edge in marketing their sellers' listings online. Delta Media Group previously ran two blogs on recent Open House updates:

Helping Real Estate Agents
Sellers will be happy to see the online advantage of having a comprehensive Open House detail sheet in addition to full listing information and Open House click-able ads attached to the listing throughout the real estate website, from the property search results page, to the listing detail page, to the Open Houses section of the website.

Helping Real Estate Brokerages
For brokers, the Open House updates can go into an arsenal of recruiting tools. As the real estate industry moves more online, your Web advantages become more important. Among those advantages in the current market are the tools that can help your agents attain listings. The Open House update is one of those tools, among such others as Seller Reports, Delta Media Group's Property Pursuit national property search, eCards, CRM/drip marketing system (view more drip marketing system updates), and more.

Open House updates: Part II

Delta Media Group recently updated several elements of the Open House system on their real estate website and lead management systems, as we blogged about previously.

Another updated feature is the Open House pop-up window displayed when a consumer clicks on the Open House link of a real estate listing.

The Open House pop-up widow previously provided basic open house information including date, time, listing agent and phone number. The new window is much more robust and visual, and serves as an online advertisement for the upcoming open house.

The new Open House window includes all the information from the former window, but also adds a company logo, agent name, agent photo, agent or company phone number, the listing's direct Web address, a primary listing photo, listing address, listing price, bedrooms, bathrooms, a map of the listing's location (provided the agent is on the Upgraded Agent Website System or the company has the Atlas Search map), copyright, disclaimer, and a button to print the Web page.

Check back to Delta Media Group's blog for details on how the Open House updates can help real estate brokerages and agents improve their online business.
